THE STORY

The British Crown Jewels contain an infamous diamond. The fabled ‘Kohinoor’ or ‘Mountain Of Light’ has now become the thing of legend. Four different Asian countries lay claim to the diamond and want it to be returned to their respective countries. Britain has always refused to return it. 

This kicks off the events of our film in which a group of British Asian thieves perform a heist to steal the diamond. Once the heist has been completed they arrive back to their base and await the arrival of their boss. But as personalities and ideologies start to clash, the group slowly start to unravel.

Mixing together the complex history of Britain and the Asian subcontinent, ‘Mountain Of Light’ pulls on stories from history and throws them headfirst into modern Britain with all its complexities  and locks it in to a claustrophobic powder keg.
